Dr. Hedva Eyal is a medical and policy anthropologist. Her research focuses on the links between science, medicine and state, gender and fertility technologies. Her dissertation dealt with the policy of human subject research in Israel and included an ethnographic and historical analysis.  Currently she serves as a post doctorate fellow at Ben Gurion University, working in a research group led by Dr. Sarai Aharoni on feminist archives as a source of knowledge about violence. In addition, she lectures at Haifa University and leads the medical and psychological anthropology practicum in the School of Anthropology at Haifa University.

Hedva is a feminist activist at Isha L’Isha Feminist Center in Haifa. She is a co-founder and the former manager of “Women and Medical Technologies” project of the organization and a partner in the “Gun on the Kitchen Table” program. Hedva is a member of B’nei Zion Hospital’s ethics committee and chairs the junior faculty staff’s association at Haifa University.
