Dr. Yael Hasson holds a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Haifa. Her research areas are gender inequality and economic policy; women in the economic profession; care work and unpaid work; and women’s policy agencies in Israel. She took a major part in the development of gender budgeting and gender equality approaches and practices. She has also been an advisor to the government and local authorities on implementing gender into the economic policies and budgets; and has engaged in training local women groups on issues of social economics and mainstreaming gender perspectives in the local authority’s policies and budgets. Serves also as a teaching fellow at the Gender Studies Program in Ben Gurion University of the Negev.
