Housing policy in the city of Vienna is an example of social policy that promotes \u201chousing for all.\u201d The policy involves a large proportion of housing being developed \u201coutside of the market,\u201d that is, housing whose rents are not determined by the mechanism of supply and demand. A new document<\/a> by the Adva Center, created in cooperation with the Van Leer Institute, analyzes the possibility of implementing the policy of \u201chousing for all\u201d in Israel, in response to its prolonged housing crisis.<\/p>\n To launch this new document, we organized an event for the general public, in which representatives from the city of Vienna and from the Austrian Federation of Limited-Profit Housing Associations, as well as relevant Israeli representatives, discussed whether and in what way it may be possible to guarantee in Israel \u2013 housing for all.<\/p>\n
