Dr. Fahima Abbas

Researcher

Dr. Fahima Abbas is a geographer dealing with the Arab middle-class in Israel: strategies for integration in urban spaces such as metropolitan structures and divided cities, spatial inequality, migration and commuting. Her post doctorate from the Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace dealt with the Eastern-Jerusalem middle-class’s participation in the Israeli economy. In Adva Center, Fahima examines the Arab woman’s accessibility to housing in Israel and engages in a project that will provide tools for increased gender equality in Arab local authorities.
